Overview

The Graduate Diploma in Information Technology is an advanced course designed to provide graduates in information technology-related disciplines with further knowledge and skills in the areas of IT Management, Cyber Security and Networking, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The course emphasises professional practice and effective communication using technical and non-technical means. In addition, students select from a range of elective units according to their interests.

Admission Requirements

• Enrolment restrictions: All graduate courses are subject to restriction.
• Special requirements: The course is available by on-campus attendance only.
• Entry requirements (onshore):
  • Recognised Bachelor's degree in IT (AQF Level 7)
  • Recognised non-IT Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7) plus an approved qualification in IT
  • Recognised non-IT Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7) plus two years of relevant IT experience
  • Recognised non-IT Honours degree (AQF Level 8) plus relevant IT experience
• English language requirements: Equivalent of an Academic IELTS overall score of 6.0 with no band less than 6.0.

Learning Outcomes

1. Demonstrate an advanced understanding of the ICT body of knowledge and how it is relevant to contemporary professional practice.
2. Demonstrate a broad base of information technology skills and knowledge.
3. Apply the tools and techniques of project management to support successful project completion.
4. Demonstrate a practical and theoretical understanding of computational and statistical tools and methods for data-driven analysis and problem solving, including their limitations.
5. Analyse organisational processes and information requirements using appropriate tools and methods.
6. Develop an information security strategy aligned with organisational goals and objectives.

Alternative Exits

Students can opt out of the Graduate Diploma in Information Technology and exit with the Graduate Certificate in Information Technology.
